Short answer
Most transactions on BitcoinVN do not require identity verification (KYC). A small amount of VND buying can be done with an email-only account.
No KYC required
- Crypto-to-crypto swaps — swap any supported cryptocurrency without an account or verification
- Crypto to VND (bank transfer or cash pickup) — deposit crypto, receive VND. No verification needed.
- VND to crypto (bank transfer in) — buy crypto with VND from your own Vietnamese bank account. Only email confirmation (Level 1) is required, no ID upload. Deposit limits apply: 5,000,000 VND per order and 20,000,000 VND over a rolling 30-day window. See the VND Bank Transfer article for full limit tiers.
- Bitcoin ATMs (BTMs) — buy or sell Bitcoin with cash, no KYC
When KYC unlocks more
Verification is only required if you want to raise your VND deposit limits beyond Level 1:
- Level 2 (identity verified) — 50,000,000 VND per order / 250,000,000 VND per 30 days
- Level 3 (identity + Vietnamese residence verified) — 250,000,000 VND per order / 1,000,000,000 VND per 30 days
- Level 4 (VIP) — no limit
When verification may be triggered
BitcoinVN's automated risk system may flag individual orders for manual review regardless of KYC status. This is a standard security measure and does not necessarily mean you need to verify your identity.
