Networks, memos, destination tags, and Lightning payments

Every cryptocurrency transfer must use the exact asset and network selected for the order. Assets with the same name or ticker can exist on different networks, and similar-looking addresses do not make those networks interchangeable.

Use the live BitcoinVN order form for supported options and the order page for the payment details of a specific order.

Before sending a payment

Check all of the following:

  • The asset matches the order.
  • The network matches the order.
  • The destination address was copied correctly.
  • Any displayed memo or destination tag was included exactly.
  • The amount matches the order instructions.

Do not choose a network based only on its fee or address format.

Memos and destination tags

Some transfers require both an address and a memo or destination tag. When BitcoinVN requires one for a deposit, it appears separately on the order page.

Copy both values exactly. A missing or incorrect identifier can prevent the payment from being assigned to your order.

When receiving funds from BitcoinVN, enter the memo or destination tag required by your destination wallet or exchange. If the destination does not require one, leave the field empty.

Lightning payments to BitcoinVN

For a Bitcoin Lightning deposit, BitcoinVN displays a BOLT11 invoice on the order page. The payment amount and expiry are encoded in the invoice, and the order page shows the remaining time.

Pay the invoice with a compatible Lightning wallet. If it expires before payment, it can no longer be paid; create a new order to receive a new invoice.

If your wallet shows a completed payment but the order is not credited, contact BitcoinVN Support with the order ID and the payment details shown by your wallet.

Receiving Bitcoin over Lightning

To receive Bitcoin over Lightning, provide one of the payment details accepted by the order form:

  • A BOLT11 invoice
  • An LNURL
  • A Lightning address

A BOLT11 invoice must request the exact settlement amount and remain valid for the order. If the form rejects it, generate a fresh invoice or provide another supported Lightning payment detail.

EVM deposits

An EVM address may have the same format on several networks, but this does not make the networks interchangeable. Always use the network selected for the order.

BitcoinVN does not support EVM deposits generated by smart contracts. Send EVM deposits using a standard transfer from your wallet.

Wrong asset, network, or identifier

If you sent the wrong asset, used the wrong network, or omitted a required memo or destination tag:

  1. Do not send another payment.
  2. Keep the order ID and transaction ID.
  3. Record the asset and network used.
  4. Follow the mistaken-deposit recovery guide.

Recovery is not guaranteed. Any available recovery options and applicable fees are assessed under the Asset Recovery Policy.
